Well I am going to MAX 2004 this year as I do every year. I really like this conference. Anybody who is a web developer and/or designer should go and check it out.

This year however it’s in New Orleans Nov 1-4th, and, as you might have noticed, during the upcoming presidential election. Well this was a fact I hadn’t noticed until now. Luckily I came across a small link on Macromedia’s site when I went to recheck my schedule of classes.

I appreciate Macromedia trying to remind us but they didn’t do a really great job to make sure people vote. An email reminder would have been nice and appropriate.

I can imagine there are going to be hundreds of people who won’t bother to vote this year because of it. MAX attracts tons of people from all over the country and these will be people who more likely have never voted absentee and even don’t know you can. Many will not even know what absentee voting is.

I say cost in the title loosing Kerry the election partially in jest but also because this is a conference of, I am guessing, a majority of liberal types. But I could be wrong too so I am just playing with that title.

Anyway I do encourage everyone who is going to MAX to get out and vote early.
