Bait and Switch Reminiscent of, the now Governor, Brad Henry’s Play On Oklahoma Green Party Voters.

This is why I do not trust politicians....one of many reasons, but this is a serious one, because they all do it and yet it’s still lying. But we all accept it and over look it when they get caught.

Basically Kerry was quoted in October’s "Outdoor Life" magazine, as saying this when asked what his favorite gun was:

Kerry’s published response was:

"My favorite gun is the M-16 that saved my life and that of my crew in Vietnam."

"I don’t own one of those now, but one of my reminders of my service is a Communist Chinese assault rifle."

The Kerry quote appears on Page 82 of the October issue of Outdoor Life.

Well the New York Times is now reporting that Kerry denies owning that assault rifle!!

Ok ok well before you go freaking out because you just can’t imagine a politician saying one thing and then denying they said it. Kerry campaign spokesman Michael Meehan told the Times that it was all a staffers fault!!

Wow I would have never though that would be the response. A staffer being blamed is so unusual. But hey I can believe that, but all that tells me is Kerry has his staff speak for him, pretending to news outlets and other people that they really him. Why is this right people, and why do you accept it?

Both political parties do this, and encourage this, in order to get the word out about their views. But how do we know what is truth and what is a lie?

If I am going to be lied to, I want it to come straight from the candidates own mouth not the work of an aid to the candidate. The way it works is, if the candidates views or ideas have become unpopular then they can just blame it on a staffer!

My friend Matthew (JMB) has had this happen to him before when, the now Oklahoma Governor, Brad Henry was running for office. The Henry Campaign did the same bait and switch to the green party voters.

I hope he will comment on this below if he wants to enlighten the reader on that one. I think it would go great with this post even if its at least a brief synopsis.

But basically Green Party of Oklahoma members were USED, plain and simple, by the Henry Campaign. Their votes were stolen.

Anyway the magazine claimed it had done an "exclusive interview with the two presidential candidates,"

But Kerry campaign spokesman Michael Meehan said many of the remarks attributed to Kerry had in fact been written by campaign staff, who filled out the magazine’s questionnaire.

Great now what do we take away from this? Either way someone lied to make the candidate look good, and if a staffer did it, then the campaign lied to the magazine in order to make Kerry look good.

We have to assume at this point everything that he was quoted in the magazine as saying was a lie, even what his favorite gun is "m-16?" because a staffer wrote it and not Kerry himself.

It won’t matter though because the readers of the magazine will see it and get out of it what the campaign wanted anyway. They just need as many people to believe it, and feedback positively, as possible.

Politics as usual I say; doesn’t it suck when you get caught?

Want to try and experiment? Pass this news along to a few democrat friends and watch and see who defends Kerry and instantly blames the staffer. Then send it to a few republican friends and watch them instantly blame Kerry. yyyeeeaaahhhaaaww!!
