Hypocrisy 101 In The Great White North

Precinct 333 has a post about hate speech laws in Canada.

Turns out that writing a letter to the editor saying homosexuality is immoral: Hate Speech. Saying on a television talk show that all adult Israelis are "legitimate targets" for Palestinian terrorists: Not Hate Speech

National Post - Police have decided not to charge a controversial Muslim leader under Canada’s hate-crime laws for suggesting on a television talk show last fall that all adult Israelis are "legitimate targets" for Palestinian terrorists.

I agree with The Precinct Chair:

I’m disgusted that Canada is willing to allow advocacy of a new genocide against Jews...

Bill C-250, that passed in April 28, 2004, expands the definition “identifiable group” relating to the area of hate propaganda in the Criminal Code to include any section of the public distinguished by sexual orientation. More >>

Is the bible "hate propaganda" now?

In Alberta, Rev. Stephen Boissoin has a date with the Alberta Human Rights Commission for writing a letter to the editor. In 2002 he learned that Alberta P-Flag Faith Society had undertaken an initiative in Alberta public schools teaching that homosexuality was "Normal, Necessary, Acceptable & Productive." Boissoin’s letter urged Christians to become aware of this publicly funded initiative, an action that prompted a University of Calgary professor to launch a complaint with the AHRC.

I think Canada is making a mistake here. The answer to hate speech is more speech, not less.

You should have the right to say hateful things. You also should expect others to express themselves through their own free speech rights in opposition to your point of view.

As to speech that incites violence, that is a tough question, but generally is a rationale that has been abused by the government in the past. The idea of incitement assumes that people can't control themselves. I say let the hatemonger spout their venom. It just makes them look like bigger fools (i.e. Fred Phelps - the author of godhatesfags.com makes gay-haters look stupid and ends up causing fencesitters to get off the fence and stand up for gay rights)

The debate seems to be about the definition of the word hatred. In Romans 12:9, my religious literature states that " Love must be sincere.hate(some versions use abhor) what is evil and cling to what is good." Science thus far proves beyond a doubt that the homosexual lifestyle is a lifestyle of "death". Every health statistic that I have ever read states such. Gee maybe my religious literature has a point. If I had been calling crack wicked would anyone have had a problem? Obviously not. Considering the statistical evidence, I am compelled out of love to encourage people to avoid and stand against the propagation of this lifestyle. I believe every person has value, heterosexual and homosexual alike. Though I simply do not believe that homosexuality has any value. Instead, it destroy lives. If that is hatred, then so be it. I hate homosexuality not those who participate in it.

Peace

Stephen Boissoin

I agree with Pastor Steve, I have known him for six years now and I fell the same way. I watch shows with homosexuals adopting children and getting married, think about what kind of life that child would have growing up with two same sex parents, that is wrong. I would feel for any child who has same sex parents they would get beat up, teased bullyed etc. when it is ment for a man and woman to be together not two dads or moms and one pretending to be the other. It is not right and I don't want my kids being taught about homosexuality, they are there to get an education. This is a free world and everybody can have there own opion, it's called freedom of speetch, if you don't like it ignore it. If this would have been anybody else, but a pastor, not alot would have been said about it.
