If you really like music that isn’t commercialized overly polished pompous pop then I have the site or sites for you.

I came across this site by total chance. I don’t know how I found hepcatwilly.com but from there I came to Comforstand and a list of other amazing websites featuring rare, strange, and mostly independant music.

We strive to bring you recordings that we find interesting, compelling and downright enjoyable. We are not genre-specific and feature a wide range of material, from well-known performers to those loud unknown kids down your block.

I cant begin to do the site justice by trying to explain further. That quote pretty much says it all, but in some ways doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface of what this site offers.

Here is a compilation that Comforstand did for its birthday. Comfort Cake everything is free, music, covers and everything. Just sit back and enjoy.

I’m probably going to try and feature music and albums I find on these websites.

I also wanted to share some links that I discovered awhile back that showcase odd and rare albums. You can download mp3’s of music that you literally cannot find anywhere or at least not outside the obscure album box at your local thrift store or junk shop.

I can’t describe to you these sites so check them out for yourself. They are a real and rare treat. (man so much music so little time. I cant download fast enough)
