We had a nice relaxing day on the farm. Grandpa showed us a photo he took awhile back of some Bear tracks. Alex got pretty excited and wanted to go out and hunt for the Bear.
We loaded up into their van and Grandpa took us back to where my Uncle Ron is putting a new cabin. It’s back on the hill by the original Corn Crib umm…crib…that me and my homey’s used to ….ok stop it….where we used to camp. The Corn Crib Cottage, as I call it, was put there by Grandpa and Uncle Ron back in June of 1984. Our names are etched in the concrete foundation.
Before the crib we had a tent there and Uncle Kevin, (who is just 7 years old then I am) my brother, and I would camp out.
I have so many great memories there…campfires, animal noises at night, eating fruity pebbles cereal in the woods, playing hide and seek with Uncle Kevin in the tall grass…and the time I cut my back on the barbed wire fence; I still have the scar.
The family always met up there to have our bon fires and the kids camp out in the converted corn crib.
This was before Uncle Gary bought the mobile home, in 1987 I think, which is located down at the bottom of the hill to the left where there used to be an old homestead. We do the same there now; have our bon fire and meet together.
Here are some photos from day 5…

The black smoke began to rise up and we knew before long "they" would be coming for the boy.
