Pat Robertson Is Anti-war; Lies To Viewers

PatRob_Chavez_sm.jpg
He is "anti-war" only because it cost too much and its easier to just covertly kill someone.

I wasn’t going to post on this because I have been really busy but today’s news drove me to it.

I’m really fed up with Pat Robertson at this point. First he is calling for the assassination [video and text] of a world leader on national television and now he is lying [video and text] about it.

Hey, now there is no doubt that a quiet assassination is less costly than a full scale war. I have said the same thing before, but I am not a TV personality broadcasting my thoughts to millions of people across American. (On top of that he has aligned himself as a representative of Christian’s views. The network is the Christian Broadcasting Network. He has a huge responsibility)

With great power comes great responsibility.

If this was some main stream loud mouth news broadcaster calling for the assassination of a world leader I wouldn’t be as upset as I am about this. Most likely they would be saying it for shallow petty self promoting shock value reasons designed to boost rating.

But what is sad is that Pat really means it. Then today Pat says he never said we should assassinate Chavez; which this is a blatant lie, and I am floored at how obvious he is about lying. He spin is insulting.

Pat Robertson is sending the message that he thinks his audience is not very intelligent or so blindly loyal that they will just not care.

I’m a Christian and Pat Robertson doesn’t represent me. Followers of Christ need to stop and take heed. Its time to let Pat know he has a responsibility to show a Christ like example on the “Christian Broadcasting Network” or go join CNN or Fox News.

Read and WATCH it all for yourself:

Robertson called for the assassination of Venezuela’s president

Pat Robertson: "You know, I don’t know about this doctrine of assassination, but if he thinks we’re trying to assassinate him, I think that we really ought to go ahead and do it. It’s a whole lot cheaper than starting a war. And I don’t think any oil shipments will stop. But this man is a terrific danger and the United ... This is in our sphere of influence, so we can’t let this happen. We have the Monroe Doctrine, we have other doctrines that we have announced. And without question, this is a dangerous enemy to our south, controlling a huge pool of oil, that could hurt us very badly. We have the ability to take him out, and I think the time has come that we exercise that ability. We don’t need another $200 billion war to get rid of one, you know, strong-arm dictator. It’s a whole lot easier to have some of the covert operatives do the job and then get it over with.”

Now watch as Pat flat out lies on CBN.

Robertson lies about his Chavez comments; claims he "didn’t say 'assassination' "

Pat Robertson: “Wait a minute, I didn’t say 'assassination.' I said our special forces should, quote, "take him out," and "take him out" can be a number of things including kidnapping. There are a number of ways to take out a dictator from power besides killing him. I was misinterpreted by the AP, but that happens all the time.”

As you can tell by the original video and transcript that he clearly was talking about "take him out" in a killing sense not as kidnapping.

You don’t go say we should assassinate him and then use the phrase “take him out” in the same breath and say I meant kidnap him.

You will also notice Pat says that “take him out” could mean lots of things. He never says “I meant it like this.” So he is being spin tricky. But saying that he never said "assassination" was a total lie.

He also said, "I was misinterpreted by the AP, but that happens all the time" um no Pat we all watched you say it.

He really wanted to take him out bowling, or for a beer.

He actually didn't even say "take him out", he said he wanted some 'take out', maybe Soylent Chavez or something.

Although Pat says he didn't say to assasinate Hugo Chavez, I guess it is still OK to kidnap the guy. Very biblical to kidnap a guy, I guess. Maybe Pat is in love with Hugo or is lonely and needs a friend.

What? Kidnap him and then take him out.

Whatever happen to the good old days when people just asked someone out instead.
