An interesting eye witness account of visitors to the Falls Creek FEMA Detainment Camp.
Its the account of a guy and his family who bought supplies to deliver to their churches cabin at Falls Creek.
I do think this guy was a bit idealistic. I can understand why a certain level of organization and process needs to be estabilished in order to actually help people.
He also apparently didn’t hear the news back when Falls Creek was getting ready for the refugees or he would have known about the kitchens and supplies gathering rules.
But its an interesting article to get a glimps of how things are running and setup at Falls Creek.
I agree with him that Falls Creek is bad because its out in the middle of nowhere. People don’t have easy access to get their lives back in order. How will people conduct business, deal with insurance and bills etc… Well unless they give everyone phone access I have a feeling the people who will be staying there are those considered to not have much business to conduct.
One of the “Hosts” (civilians appointed to live with the refugees and help them) there told the family “….You don’t understand the type of people that are about to come here...." The mans son later says the “host” went on to say "We’ve already been told of teenage girls delivering fetuses on buses."
I hope they will be treated with more respect than that.
