I haven’t been logging anything in some time because things are just so busy this season. I have been trying to get caught up on side projects and work, and just when I think I am more stuff pops up.
The day after Thanksgiving was pretty eventful. There were some items I wanted to get while the prices on them were half off or better, so I went out shopping early that morning.

The day after Thanksgiving was pretty eventful. There were some items I wanted to get while the prices on them were half off or better, so I went out shopping early that morning.
I don’t like the mass frenzy of “black Friday” but the prices were going to save me tons of money and I needed the money more than making a statement.
I can’t say what all I got because much of it was gifts for people who might even read this blog. But my brother in law and I were going to get to circuit city when it opened and buy a couple of things. I was dreading doing the standing in line in the cold forever business. While I was waiting at home trying to convenience myself to get out there I decided to do some research on the internet over the items we wanted to buy.
I saw the items on the circuit city website but they didn’t allow you to buy them online. Then a bit later I check them again to remind myself of what they looked like and what to my wandering eyes should appear but a button that let me buy them from here. I was able to purchase a Pioneer Receiver for myself and a Canon Digital Camcorder for Joe from the comfort of home and select to go pick them up at the store so I could have them the same day.
I also bought something on ebay and amazon.com right after that so I had a few gifts already bought before I left the house. (We’ve bought a good portion of our gifts online again this year up from what we did last year)
When I finally got up the nerve to step out in the cold I headed out at Radio Shack. It was the brand new store that was just built by our house. They only had dialup because the broadband wasn’t installed yet and their computer system was messing up because of it. They were as frustrated as we were so I don’t blame them. The people working there were extremely helpful and nice. I walked out of Radio Shack with a total of $150 savings because the items I got where 50 to 70% off the normal price anywhere else. Four Christmas gifts were taken care of.
My mom met me there and we went to Kohls across the street. The lines were huge but shopping was pretty easy, although the way we had to do after a bit was to stand in line to save a place and then each go shop separately. It worked out and I was able to get many more gifts for people and saved a huge chunk of money.
Teamwork on “Black Friday” is essential.
If I had bought stuff at regular price it would have cost me around over $200 more, so it was worth it to me.
