Alex turned 6 July 19th. I went to work in the morning then at noon, after a meeting with a new company I am doing contract for, Brandi came and picked me up and we all went to see the movie “Cars” at the Harkins Theatre.
Brandi, Alex and I went to see The Chronicles of Narnia at Regal theatre. I really loved the movie. I’ve read the book and this movie was extremely faithful in bringing it to life. The children were exactly as I had imagined they were and the actors were very skilled and handled the roles well. The special effects were top notch which was important since there are only 4 humans in 99% of the film.
Man am I glad the Spider-man villain is Sandman in the third movie. I just didn't want the guy to be Venom. This is such a relief. I love how they have him in his original trademark clothing as well.
I rented the official Marvel movie adaptation of Man-Thing Saturday night. This is the recent straight to DVD release from Lions Gate Films. (Apparently the movie didn’t screen well so they decided to port it straight to DVD. It's in the stores now so rent it.)
During an interview this weekend promoting Elizabethtown, Kirsten Dunst confirmed rumors to Zap2it that Thomas Haden Church will play Sandman and Topher Grace is Venom in director Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 3, opening in theaters on May 4, 2007.
I think people view a Hollywood movie differently today than in the past; thinking in terms of "is this worthy of a big screen experience" or is this movie a renter.
Recently I was able to attend a sneak preview of the upcoming movie “The Island” staring Ewan McGregor, and Scarlett Johansson.
The Island is basically about a guy, Lincoln Six Echo (McGregor), who realizes that the life he has known isn’t at all what it seams.
I went to a screening of the new movie Sky High today (July 15th at the AMC Quail Springs ). While at the Bruce Campbell book signing the other day they gave out free passes.
My DVD collection has been growing. It’s seems to have taken on a mind of its own because I don’t even remember buying all of these. It’s either that or my mind has suppressed the memory due to the shock of thinking what I might have spent.
I went and saw Star Wars: EP III today (June 27th) at 1:40 this afternoon. I went to eat lunch and popped in to the Harkin Cinema in Bricktown. The movie was pretty good. The story was cramed in like I thought it would be since there was so much ground to cover. And as usual it has its stiff clunky dialogue an corny moments that has plagued this knew trilogy.
What started as a sound effect for the 1951 Warner Brothers film "Distant Drums", directed by Raoul Walsh starred Gary Cooper as Captain Quincy Wyatt, has become a screaming legend in Hollywood.

If you are into movies or even if you just occasionally watch one hollywoodjesus.com is an interesting site to check out.
They review and analyze movies from a spiritual viewpoint. They don’t just pick movies that are clearly spiritual in message they review all movies and examine them for an underlying and mostly unintended spiritual message.

Fark Photoshop Contests always crack me up hardcore. This is no exception. The Photoshop lightsabers into images of world events to "special editionize" them" contest is on.

ComingSoon.net reports that "Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith" earned an incredible $50 million from 3,661 theaters on its first day, breaking the record set in 2004 by Spider-Man 2:
Despite the enormity of its opening day, Revenge of the Sith is not a lock to break Spider-Man's $114.8 million opening weekend record.
Just 3 days until the premier of the new star wars movie “Episode III - Revenge of the Sith”.
I am looking forward to seeing it and it will probably be a good movie, but it’s not something I am excited about. I was more excited about the release of Sin City that I am about this new star wars installment.
Coming up this summer is Oklahoma City's chance to Learn how to "Make Love the Bruce Campbell Way"! According to his website (bruce-campbell.com) Bruce is planning a visit to the OKC July 8th for his new book tour.
He came through 3 years ago on his last book tour for the book "If Chins Could Kill : Confessions of a B Movie Actor". Scott, Thomas, and I were there and got our books signed. If you like Bruce Campbell, and even if you don't, its well worth coming out and seeing him.
April 1st we went to regal cinema to see Sin City on its Opening night. My friend Josh and his girlfriend came with us.
All I can say about the movie is that it was a spectacular presentation like I’ve never seen before. Its style is like no other movie I 've seen. Sin City perfectly represents the graphic novels almost panel by panel word for word. It’s about as true as you can get to the books.
This is a new Warner Brothers series called “Loonatics” which is set in 2772, features descendants of Bugs and his Looney Tunes pals. However they are “Endowed with individual super powers and unique abilities.” I think this idea must...
I read on SCFIwire that Steven Spielberg is going to be producing a Transformers film. "It's happening," he said in an interview, adding, "We'll announce the director in three weeks."

I wanted to update every one on my earlier post about young children being allowed to watch very extreme violence and gore at the new Bricktown Harkin Theatre.
I received a reply from Mike Bowers, Vice President of Harkins who has taken the time to address the issues we have raised.

Friday we saw the documentary "Moog" at the Oklahoma Museum of Art. It’s about Bob Moog who invented the Moog synthesizer.
I am a big fan of old school electronic instruments and unusual sounds so this documentary was really a treat. I love the analog sound of a Moog. There are virtually no boundaries to the creativity you can achieve with electronic sound.

We have been watching The Tick (the short lived live action TV series). I bought it on DVD recently. The best way to describe the show is it's Seinfeld but with superheroes.

"Hotel Rwanda" is a movie based on the true story of a hotel manager who sheltered more than 1,200 refugees after the West turned a blind eye to that country's genocidal violence a decade ago. The director hopes to create debate over African conflicts and the peacekeeping obligations of the world community.
We were able to go to a special screening of Blade last wed. (Dec 1st) at the new Downtown Harkin Theatre in Bricktown. While the movie was good what we saw going down at the theatre was not.

Bryan Singer who is set to direct the next “Superman” movie franchise has (not officially) picked to play Clark Kent/Superman the relatively unknown actor Brandon Routh.
Today I went and saw Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow (Trailer). I’ve been looking forward to seeing it for along time now and I got to say I really liked it a lot. It was uniquely filmed in...
